How many jobs will AI replace by 2030?

Nobody knows exactly, but the big studies point the same way. The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025 expects 92 million jobs to be displaced by 2030 and 170 million new ones to be created, a net gain of 78 million, with clerical and secretarial jobs falling fastest. The IMF estimates that about 40% of jobs worldwide are exposed to AI, and around 60% in rich countries, where more work is done at a desk. The ILO finds clerical work by far the most exposed, and that most other jobs are more likely to be changed than replaced.

If your job is on this list

  1. Find the part of your job AI can't do (judgement, people, physical work) and do more of it.
  2. Learn the AI tools for your field: the people who use them replace the people who don't, first.
  3. Look at the "learn next" line on your job's page.
